All About Me

by: David Aimi

Hello all, my name is David Aimi and I currently reside in Connecticut. I am a Senior UI Developer and have worked all over Connecticut. I have vast experience in CSS, XHTML, JavaScript, JavaScript frameworks, ColdFusion, MySQL, MSSQL, and much more. (resume) Although I've moved around a bit for the most part I was born and raised here. I've had an affinity for web design and development all of my life. I was always the artistic child throughout school, and have always been a creative person. Naturally, these skills evolved to computers and I have been working with them ever since.

I've found throughout my life that I've never had a simple knack for one particular skill(set). I've encountered so many challenges that I have learned a spectrum of skills all of which I use today. Having an issue at hand that I could not solve was never acceptable for me. My passion for learning new skills, even if small or minor, has molded me into the senior UI developer I am today. If you'd like to see a full list of my skills please navigate to the resume portion of my website.

My passion as of lately has fallen into user interface(UI) development. Because of my vast skillset I am able to both develop and design. This is why I have chosen the path of a UI developer. I enjoy developing for user interaction. You can see examples of my work in my portfolio.

In theory, I am what you would call a "web 2.0 developer." I would consider this only partially true. Web 2.0 is a large mess! Although it is very promising and provides countless possibilities, it also comes with much ignorance and overhead. Many companies are now sacrificing much of their needed content for sleek new web 2.0 applications. Those of you who have seen numerous "start-up" companies know what I am talking about. However, I am not one of these web developers. I still value what the web was originally based on - content.
